| UTSA: It's curious why a school like UTSA breaking in 19 new starters would schedule such a challenging non-conference slate: at Arizona, versus Kansas State, at Oklahoma State and versus Colorado State. The Roadrunners were the second-worst team in the nation on third downs (28%), and the combination of untested quarterbacks and a thin receiving corps is a recipe for another losing season. There's a real possibility they lose all four conference home games (Louisiana Tech, Old Dominion, Rice and Middle Tennessee). | | SOUTHERN MISS: The Todd Monken era hasn't been synonymous with winning, as the team is 4-20 in his two seasons. But this program has a lot of talented youth and a rather easy schedule for the coming season. There are seven winnable contests, which includes trips to Texas State and Charlotte plus five home games versus teams with a combined 22-39 record in 2014 (1-11 FCS Austin Peay, 4-8 North Texas, 4-8 UTSA, 7-6 UTEP and 6-6 ODU). Even with five anticipated losses as double-digit underdogs, the Eagles should secure 5+ wins in 2015. |
