| PENN ST: Penn State's favorable schedule should allow for head coach James Franklin to increase his win total from seven in his first season with the team. The Nittany Lions will be favored heavily in most of their first six games of the year, as they open at Temple and then play five straight home games against inferior squads (Buffalo, Rutgers, San Diego State, Army and Indiana. They also avoid the top four teams in the West Division (Wisconsin, Nebraska, Minnesota and Iowa) and draw Illinois at home and Northwestern on the road. | | TEMPLE: If defense really does win championships, Temple will win the AAC with ease. But the Owls are not the most complete team in the conference because they are so inept on offense. They also play the top four teams in the American (vs. Memphis, at Cincinnati, vs. UCF and at East Carolina) plus non-conference clashes with Penn State and Notre Dame, both at home. However, there's no reason Temple can't steal a couple of those games and wind up 6-2 in the American. With almost certain wins at UMass and Charlotte, the Owls look to be a great bet for eight victories. |

LYNCH'S RUN
Penn State's Akeel Lynch ran for 130 yards and a touchdown in last season's win over Temple. With Mark Allen, Saquon Barkley and Nick Scott all fighting for carries, it could be interesting to see just how much the Nittany Lions lean on Lynch.
