| SOUTHERN MISS: The Todd Monken era hasn't been synonymous with winning, as the team is 4-20 in his two seasons. But this program has a lot of talented youth and a rather easy schedule for the coming season. There are seven winnable contests, which includes trips to Texas State and Charlotte plus five home games versus teams with a combined 22-39 record in 2014 (1-11 FCS Austin Peay, 4-8 North Texas, 4-8 UTSA, 7-6 UTEP and 6-6 ODU). Even with five anticipated losses as double-digit underdogs, the Eagles should secure 5+ wins in 2015. | | LOUISIANA TECH: This success of this team will hinge largely on the performance of new quarterback Jeff Driskel, but Louisiana Tech has enough pieces in place to justify its position as the West division favorite. Because the division is so weak, head coach Skip Holtz scheduled three challenging non-conference games (at Kansas State, at Mississippi State and vs. 9-4 Louisiana-Lafayette) to better prepare his team for the postseason. |
