| FLA ATLANTIC: The strength of FAU will be a defense that should be one of Conference USA's best this season. The unit is led by DE Trey Hendrickson, who led the conference and ranked second nationally with 13.5 sacks last season. The Owls will have a new offensive coordinator for 2016 with Travis Trickett, son of Florida State's Rick Trickett, taking over the play-calling duties.
| | FLA INTERNATIONAL: The Panthers have improved in each of the last two seasons under head coach Ron Turner, winning four games in 2014 and five a year ago. FIU will have a veteran offense with nine returning starters in 2016, including QB Alex McGough, who threw 21 TD passes in 2015.
