| BALL ST: Expect Ball State to institute a no-huddle spread attack now that Mike Neu has taken over as head coach, but the Cardinals are going to have to make the transition with four starting offensive linemen having departed. And although new defensive coordinator Tim Daoust has most of his players back, it's from a team that ranked 121st in FBS in total defense last season.
| | FLA ATLANTIC: The strength of FAU will be a defense that should be one of Conference USA's best this season. The unit is led by DE Trey Hendrickson, who led the conference and ranked second nationally with 13.5 sacks last season. The Owls will have a new offensive coordinator for 2016 with Travis Trickett, son of Florida State's Rick Trickett, taking over the play-calling duties.
