KEY GAME INFORMATION
BUFFALO: The Bills have taken steps to move the franchise toward its first playoff appearance since 1999. If RB LeSean McCoy and WR Sammy Watkins can stay on the field, the offense should be productive. Both players had some offseason setbacks, but they are expected to be ready to roll for the start of training camp. Rob Ryan joins his brother's coaching staff to help shore up the defense and provide comedy for the masses. It looks like this will be a unit that once again focuses on stopping the run at all costs.
DETROIT: WR Calvin Johnson's retirement leaves a gaping hole that the Lions somehow seem to think can be filled by former Bengal WR Marvin Jones. It's going to take a career year from QB Matthew Stafford for this Lions team to be somewhat competitive this season. The offense will also need a lot from a rather uninspiring group of running backs. Incoming linemen OT Taylor Decker and G Geoff Schwartz help fortify the line while DE Ezekiel Ansah and CB Darius Slay are the lone standouts on a defense that has plenty of room for improvement.
