KEY GAME INFORMATION
KANSAS CITY: The Chiefs' biggest off-season accomplishment was re-signing their defensive stars, a group that includes S Eric Berry and LB Tamba Hali. The one who got away was CB Sean Smith, and his absence will put additional pressure on second-year CB Marcus Peters. Kansas City's offensive line was bad last year, which is what prompted the team to overpay for OT Mitchell Schwartz. RB Jamaal Charles must stay healthy for the Chiefs this season, as he is really the only chance this offense has of putting up enough points to make any type of extended postseason run.
CHICAGO: Chicago's o-line is bad and the Bears have little talent at running back, so WR Alshon Jeffery avoiding injuries and playing a full season is the team's best shot at having success on offense. QB Jay Cutler is also going to need to stay healthy and play some mistake-free football. If he doesn't then this Bears offense is not going to be able to provide much for a defense that will likely struggle once again in 2016. OLB Pernell McPhee will be the centerpiece of the team's new 3-4 scheme. The team gave up points at will last year, so a major improvement should not be expected.
