KEY GAME INFORMATION
VANCOUVER:
VANCOUVER, British Columbia (AP) - Like it or not, there is a new culture in Vancouver.
Whether the new atmosphere surrounding the Canucks leads the franchise to its long-awaited first Stanley Cup championship remains to be seen.
But coach John Tortorella is sure going to try.
Following five division championships, two Presidents trophies, for the league's most points, and a Stanley Cup finals appearance in seven years under Alain Vigneault, Vancouver brass determined the Canucks needed a tougher voice. So Vigneault, the franchise leader in wins, was fired May 22 and replaced by John Tortorella, himself fired by the New York Rangers May 29.
Tortorella comes with an edge - he can be hard on the media, and often calls out his players in press conferences - but he wins, and that's what Vancouver needs. He won a Stanley Cup in 2004 behind Tampa Bay's bench, and took the Rangers to the Eastern Conference finals in 2012.
ANAHEIM: ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - That brand-new Pacific Division title banner in the Honda Center rafters is going to mock the Anaheim Ducks until they figure out how to back up their regular-season prowess with playoff success.
With Teemu Selanne back for one last run at the Stanley Cup, the Ducks are eager to extend the Finnish Flash's final season well into the summer.
Anaheim went back to training camp this month still smarting from its seven-game loss to Detroit in the first round of last season's playoffs. The Ducks have still only won one playoff round since claiming their only NHL title in 2007 - none since 2009.
The best regular-season winning percentage in franchise history led to another early summer, and coach Bruce Boudreau is confident the Ducks are done with first-round flops.

*Canucks-Ducks Preview* =======================

By NICOLINO DIBENEDETTO STATS Writer

Vancouver (11-6-2) at Anaheim (14-3-1), 8:00 p.m. EDT

Ryan Getzlaf is a big reason why the Anaheim Ducks own the most points in the NHL, and he's been particularly effective at home.

The nine-year veteran looks to build on his first career hat trick and help the Ducks remain the league's only unbeaten home team Sunday night against the Vancouver Canucks.

Getzlaf is among the NHL's leaders with 22 points, and his 10 goals tie linemate Corey Perry for the team lead. The All-Star center has piled up seven of those goals and set up seven others at Honda Center, spurring a franchise-best 7-0 start at home.

"You want to be the best team at home. You want to be the best team on the road," coach Bruce Boudreau said.

Getzlaf kept the Ducks (14-3-1) rolling Friday, collecting all four of his points during the first period - including the hat trick - in a 6-2 home win over Buffalo.

"That's why he's got the 'C,'" said left wing Dustin Penner, who had a goal and three assists for his first four-point game since December 2009. "He shows what a great leader he is by getting timely goals."

Still, Boudreau isn't entirely satisfied due to a shaky defense and a 12.1-percent success rate on the power play that is tied with Dallas for 25th in the league. However, the unit is 4 for 6 over the past two games.

"If you're playing Vancouver, and you give it to the Sedins in the slot, they're putting it in the net," Boudreau said. "So we've got to be able to protect the puck better.

"We've got to be able to do those little things better. We're doing them better than we've done in the past; we're winning faceoffs more often, special teams for two games has been OK. We're doing that a little better, but it's just a small sample size."

Boudreau has reason to be concerned against the Canucks (11-6-2), who have won three of their last four in Anaheim, including a 5-0 victory Jan. 25 in the Ducks' home opener.

Getzlaf has one point over the past four home meetings with Vancouver, while Perry has just two goals in six matchups.

In net for Anaheim will likely be Jonas Hiller, who has lost his last two starts at home against the division-rival Canucks, compiling a 6.14 goals-against average.

Vancouver fell to 1-1-1 on a four-game trip with a 5-1 loss at Los Angeles on Saturday.

"I thought in the first two periods we had surges early, but we couldn't score," coach John Tortorella said. "We had some breakdowns, and it's in the back of our net."

Tortorella pulled Roberto Luongo in the second period after he gave up four goals on 18 shots, and his struggles against Anaheim may keep him on the bench.

Luongo is 1-5-2 with a 4.09 GAA over his last 10 games versus the Ducks, including nine starts. Those numbers could lead to Eddie Lack facing Anaheim for the first time after the rookie stopped 13 of 14 shots against the Kings.

Daniel and Henrik Sedin were held without a point in back-to-back games for the first time this season, combining for a minus-4 on Saturday.

Facing the Ducks, however, could get the twins going. Daniel Sedin has 12 goals and 14 assists over his last 16 meetings with Anaheim, while his brother has compiled 20 points in just as many contests.

Ryan Kesler, the team leader with nine goals, hasn't found the net in six visits to Anaheim.
