| APPALACHIAN ST: Appalachian State looks to build off its 11-win season last year, and the team is in a good position to do so with a group of returning RBs led by Marcus Cox (1,423 yds). The offense, which ranked 30th in FBS in 2015, also has QB Taylor Lamb (2,387 yds, 31 TD) returning. The defense should be improved with nine returning starters. | | AKRON: Although QB Thomas Woodson returns, Akron ranked 104th in FBS in total offense last season and has to replace all five starters among its offensive line. The defense finds itself in a similar predicament, having to overcome the losses of DTs Rodney Coe and Cody Grice and all three linebackers, including MAC Defensive Player of the Year Jatavis Brown. |
