KEY GAME INFORMATION
N ILLINOIS: The Huskies were thought to have question marks going into last year, when they had no clear replacement for star QB Jordan Lynch. But Rod Carey's system prevailed, and the Huskies won their third MAC title in four years. There will be more holes to fill this year, particularly on the offensive line, and the MAC West will be as competitive as ever. But Northern Illinois will remain the conference's clear favorite until someone in the division finally proves capable of knocking the Huskies off.
BOWLING GREEN: The return of MAC Player of the Year contender Matt Johnson under center might give them the most explosive offense in the MAC, but Bowling Green has one of the nation's worst defenses. After taking their lumps as underdogs in each of their four September games, the Falcons could easily defend their division title considering they play both of the presumed top challengers, Akron and Ohio, at home.
