KEY GAME INFORMATION
N ILLINOIS: The Huskies were thought to have question marks going into last year, when they had no clear replacement for star QB Jordan Lynch. But Rod Carey's system prevailed, and the Huskies won their third MAC title in four years. There will be more holes to fill this year, particularly on the offensive line, and the MAC West will be as competitive as ever. But Northern Illinois will remain the conference's clear favorite until someone in the division finally proves capable of knocking the Huskies off.
C MICHIGAN: The Chippewas were certainly thrown for a loop when head coach Dan Enos left last January to take a coordinator job at Arkansas. New head coach John Bonamego hasn't been part of the college game since the 1990's, but comes with a long r'sum' of NFL assistant stops. He inherits a team short on experience at a lot of spots that still lives in the wrong division of the MAC, but CMU has enough talent to make a run at a bowl game.
