| | | BALL ST: Ball State will miss Keith Wenning, who will be replaced by either sophomore QB Ozzie Mann (2-for-9, 29 yds, 1 INT) or redshirt freshman QB Jack Milas. Top wideout Willie Snead and his 1,516 yards are also gone, but WR Jordan Williams (1,050 rec yds, 10 TD) is a star. So is RB Jahwan Edwards (1,110 rush yds, 14 TD), who runs behind a strong O-Line. New DC Kevin Kelly (Georgetown head coach) inherits a thin D-Line, but Ball State's top four tacklers return in OLB Ben Ingle (116 tackles), S Brian Jones (97 tackles, 6 PD), LB Zack Ryan (92 tackles) and S Dae'Shaun Hurley (83 tackles). | | TOLEDO: The Rockets will continue to run a spread offense with new starting QB Logan Woodside (21-of-41, 240 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT). Toledo's receiving corps is solid with WRs Alonzo Russell (728 rec yds, 6 TD) and Dwight Macon (214 rec yds, 3 TD), and its ground game uses a bruising O-Line to create holes for star RB Kareem Hunt (866 rush yds, 6.3 YPC, 6 TD). The defense is stacked with returnees, including LBs Junior Sylvestre (118 tackles, 5 sacks) and Chase Murdock (109 tackles, 4 sacks) and CB Cheatham Norrils. |
