| LOUISVILLE: New QB Will Gardner (32-of-37, 542 yds, 4 TD in spring game) will try to operate new head coach Bobby Petrino's complex offense. WR DeVante Parker (885 rec yds, 12 TD) is a star and RB Michael Dyer (5.1 YPC) had a huge spring. The defense lost a ton, but DE Lorenzo Mauldin (9.5 sacks), LB James Burgess (72 tackles) and CB Terrell Floyd (4 INT) can really play. Because of this important information, no power rating or computer score edges are posted for this game. | | FLA INTERNATIONAL: FIU returns all offensive starters, but that might not be a good thing considering the team scored an FBS-low 9.8 PPG with three shutouts. QB Alex McGough appears to be the best fit for Ron Turner's pro-style offense, but he doesn't have polished receivers to throw to. RB Lamarq Caldwell (547 rush yds, 3.8 YPC) will get the most touches on offense. The Panthers also struggled defensively in 2013 (37.0 PPG), and the front seven has several areas of concern. FS Justin Halley (3 INT) leads an adequate secondary. |
