KEY GAME INFORMATION
LSU: While the offensive line should be one of the nation's best, the Tigers will have to replace starters at quarterback, running back, and two receiver spots. Dual-threat QB Anthony Jennings (6.2 YPA, 3 total TD) was able to replace Zach Mettenberger, who tore his ACL last November. True freshman QB Brandon Harris, another athletic signal caller, could win the starting job. They might lean on top recruit RB Leonard Fournette to carry the rushing load early on. The LSU defense is young but has a chance to be one of the nation's best once again. DEs Jermauria Rasco (4 sacks, 56 tackles) and Danielle Hunter (3 sacks, 57 tackles) have shown flashes of being a dominant pass-rush tandem. Also, CBs Tre'Davious White (55 tackles) and Rashard Robinson (3 PD) both have shutdown potential in the secondary.
WISCONSIN: The Badgers have many new faces, but returning RB Melvin Gordon (1,609 rush yds, 7.8 YPC, 12 TD) could be the FBS top rusher. His running behind a fierce O-Line will take pressure off QB Joel Stave (7.4 YPA, 22 TD, 13 INT) or dual-threat QB Tanner McEvoy. Whoever wins the job will not have an experienced receiver to target. All front-seven starters are gone, including All- American LB Chris Borland, whose spot will be filled by LB Derek Landisch (33 tackles). Freshman DE Alec James is the team's best pass rusher. The secondary returns three starters, the best being CB Sojourn Shelton (4 INT).
