| MICHIGAN: While departed head coach Brady Hoke took a lot of flak for a poor record, he needs to be commended that Michigan had the nation's third-fewest penalty yards (31.8 per game). Jim Harbaugh should maintain this discipline, which will come in handy when facing Michigan State and Ohio State, who both visit Ann Arbor this year. Home dates with Oregon State, UNLV, BYU, Northwestern and Rutgers should give Michigan enough wins to go bowling. | | UTAH: The Utes rotate offensive coordinators yet again, but this year they keep some continuity with Jim Harding and Aaron Roderick promoted in-house and keeping a similar offense likely to be run-heavy. Head coach Kyle Whittingham lured John Pease out of retirement to be his defensive coordinator. Utah can't match the talent level of the Pac-12's elite, but with a potentially great running game and elite special teams, they'll pull off a surprise or two and earn another bowl berth. |
