| | | C MICHIGAN: The Chippewas return plenty for sophomore QB Cooper Rush (2,349 pass yds, 7.5 YPA, 15 TD, 15 INT), most notably WRs Titus Davis (1,109 rec yds, 18.2 avg, 8 TD) and Andrew Flory (377 rec yds). RB Saylor Lavallii (807 rush yds, 4.4 YPC, 5 TD) is a quite capable back and has a strong O-Line to create holes for him. On defense, the 4-2-5 scheme is anchored by LB Justin Cherocci (121 tackles, 4 sacks). DT Jabari Dean is back from a groin injury and should improve a mediocre front four. S Tony Annese (29 tackles, 2 INT, 2 TD) is the biggest playmaker in a solid Central Michigan secondary. | | TOLEDO: The Rockets will continue to run a spread offense with new starting QB Logan Woodside (21-of-41, 240 yds, 1 TD, 0 INT). Toledo's receiving corps is solid with WRs Alonzo Russell (728 rec yds, 6 TD) and Dwight Macon (214 rec yds, 3 TD), and its ground game uses a bruising O-Line to create holes for star RB Kareem Hunt (866 rush yds, 6.3 YPC, 6 TD). The defense is stacked with returnees, including LBs Junior Sylvestre (118 tackles, 5 sacks) and Chase Murdock (109 tackles, 4 sacks) and CB Cheatham Norrils. |
