| NORTH TEXAS: North Texas won only four games in the entire season and will be hard-pressed to duplicate that victory total due to a schedule that is not kind. Of the seven true road games on the slate (just five home games), Southern Miss should be the only opponent that the Mean Green are favored to beat. Trips to Iowa, defending C-USA champion Marshall, Louisiana Tech, Tennessee and Middle Tennessee should all wind up as North Texas defeats. Hosting Rice, Western Kentucky and UTEP could add a couple more defeats to the ledger. | | SOUTHERN MISS: The Todd Monken era hasn't been synonymous with winning, as the team is 4-20 in his two seasons. But this program has a lot of talented youth and a rather easy schedule for the coming season. There are seven winnable contests, which includes trips to Texas State and Charlotte plus five home games versus teams with a combined 22-39 record in 2014 (1-11 FCS Austin Peay, 4-8 North Texas, 4-8 UTSA, 7-6 UTEP and 6-6 ODU). Even with five anticipated losses as double-digit underdogs, the Eagles should secure 5+ wins in 2015. |
