| CONNECTICUT: Head coach Randy Edsall is back with the Huskies, and he'll need to get more out of an offense that ranked last in FBS in scoring in 2016. There is optimism that he can do that, but probably not for another year or two. Defensively, the Huskies have some talent among the team's front seven. | | SMU: Head coach Chad Morris has done a good job turning SMU around, and he'll now look to get them to a bowl game for the first time since 2012.
Fortunately, QB Ben Hicks is back to lead an offense that was pretty explosive last year. The defense, however, needs to improve on all levels. |
