| BOISE ST: It didn't take head coach Bryan Harsin long to find his footing on the blue turf. Boise is poised to run away with the Mountain West and possibly run the table, putting them in a BCS conversation again. It's likely going to be a matter of picking the right horse in the QB race this August'sophomore Ryan Finley, a solid athlete with the arm to operate Boise's spread passing game, finished spring practice as the front-runner. The other candidates are sophomore dual threat Thomas Stuart, redshirt freshman Alex Ogle and highly regarded true freshman Brett Rypien. | | SAN JOSE ST: Head coach Ron Caragher brought in one of the conference's best recruiting classes, but this is still a team with a major weakness up front on defense'and without the offense to make up for it. The first year of the post-David Fales era did not go smoothly, as the Spartans threw for an average of just 253.2 yards per game last year, their lowest output since 2010. San Jose State might be building up to something big, but they're likely a sub-.500 team in 2015. |
