| NORTH TEXAS: The Mean Green had just one win last season and there's little reason to believe that this season will be much better. Seth Littrell, who had been North Carolina's offensive coordinator, is North Texas' new head coach.
| | RICE: Coming off a season in which it scored its fewest points in four years, Rice faces having to replace QB Driphus Jackson with fifth-year senior QB Tyler Stehling. Of greater concern is a defense that allowed an average of more yards per play than any team in FBS last season.
