| TROY: Neal Brown's return should create plenty of long-term optimism for Troy. If nothing else, his fast-breaking, pass-happy offense should make things interesting in a league that has leaned spread but run-heavy in recent years. Brown might have the right quarterback in sophomore Brandon Silvers, but the offense lacks the kind of catch-and-run weapons his offense needs. Not to mention, the defense is still a work in progress. The Trojans seem poised to make a move towards the top of the league in the coming years, but they're middle-of-the-pack in 2015. | | LA LAFAYETTE: Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Year Elijah McGuire is going to be tested this season, as the Ragin' Cajuns lost the other two-thirds of their backfield. More troubling is the loss of the monster interior defensive line tandem of Christian Ringo and Justin Hamilton, potentially making a strength into a weakness. With so many new faces in key places, another 7-1 season in the Sun Belt is a tall order. |
