KEY GAME INFORMATION
W VIRGINIA: West Virginia is retooling a bit, but this team is still loaded with talent. One area where they should be better than last year is under center. Skyler Howard is no longer in Morgantown, but Florida transfer Will Grier is likely an upgrade. He also has dual-threat ability. West Virginia will, however, need its defense to take some steps forward. If it can then the Mountaineers could surprise a lot of people.
KANSAS: Heading into this season, David Beaty had won just two games in two seasons with Kansas. The Jayhawks have been blown out more than most other Power 5 programs, but they should be a lot more competitive this year. Kansas has plenty of talent alone the defensive line, and that should bode well against Big 12 offenses. The Jayhawks do, however, need more from the secondary and a lot more from their pitiful offense.
