KEY GAME INFORMATION
TEXAS: The biggest question mark to begin the Charlie Strong era is the health status of oft-concussed QB David Ash (8.7 YPA, 7 TD, 2 INT). But this will be a run-first offense with RBs Malcolm Brown (904 rush yds, 9 TD), Jonathan Gray (780 rush yds) and Joe Bergeron (5.0 YPC, 4 TD). Texas' receiving corps also has great depth. The defense should improve with DE Cedric Reed (10 sacks), LB Jordan Hicks (40 tackles) and star CB Quandre Diggs (10 PD).
KANSAS: Dual-threat sophomore QB Montell Cozart (3.6 YPA, 0 TD, 2 INT) won the starting job and has a true No. 1 receiver in Miami Ohio transfer WR Nick Harwell (3,166 rec yds, 23 TD in 3 years). The ground game could improve with RBs Brandon Bourbon (4.7 YPC, 4 TD) and Darrian Miller (4.8 YPC), but the O-Line is subpar. The defense's strength lies with CB Dexter McDonald (10 PD), S Isaiah Johnson (5 INT) and LB Ben Heeney (87 tackles, 3 INT).
