KEY GAME INFORMATION
OKLAHOMA ST: Reality sets in this year for Cowboys fans as the best QB-WR tandem in college football (Brandon Weeden and Justin Blackmon) has moved on to the NFL. OSU will replace Weeden with junior Clint Chelf, who has 5 TD and 1 INT in mop-up duty in his career. OSU was able to put up 48.7 PPG last year (2nd in FBS), thanks to the best turnover margin in the nation and 24 TD from RB Joseph Randle, who finished with 1,216 rushing yards on 5.8 YPC. Senior WR Tracy Moore (672 rec yds, 4 TD) moves up to take Blackmon's No. 1 receiver spot. The Cowboys defense ranked among the top-40 teams in the nation in both sacks (2.2 per game) and Tackles For Loss (7.0 per game), but allowed a whopping 272 pass YPG in the pass-happy Big 12. But there is talent in the secondary, and most of last year's defense, which held Texas Tech to six points and Oklahoma to 10, returns for the 2012 season.
BAYLOR: Baylor begins life after the Robert Griffin III era, and it's not looking too hot. The Bears will now rely on senior Nick Florence at the quarterback position. Florence played well in the one game he started against Texas Tech last year (165 total yards, 3 TD), but he has more career picks (nine) than TD passes (eight). One name to look out for is RB Lache Seastrunk, who transferred from Oregon after being connected to the probe into the Ducks' use of a Texas-based prep scouting service. The offense also loses RB Terrance Ganaway and WR Kendall Wright, who combined for 36 TD in 2011, but senior WR Terrance Williams (957 rec yds, 11 TD) does return. Defensively, the Bears couldn't stop anybody last year (488 YPG, 5th-most in FBS) and were always involved in high-scoring shootouts, allowing 37.2 PPG (8th-most in nation). Without Griffin III to bail them out, this defensive unit which returns all but three starters, will need to be much better in 2012.

*Oklahoma St.-Baylor Preview* =============================

No. 23 Oklahoma State (7-4) at Baylor (6-5), 12:00 p.m. EDT

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - To a man, Oklahoma State football players insisted Monday they were focused on the 24th-ranked Cowboys' next opponent, Baylor. That doesn't mean it has been easy to put aside the disappointment of two days earlier.

Oklahoma State never trailed Oklahoma until the final play of overtime, losing 51-48 last Saturday in the annual Bedlam game. Then, as the Cowboys exited Owen Field, they witnessed a raucous celebration by the Sooners and their fans, the type of outburst usually reserved for a win in a big bowl game or over longtime rival Texas.

"They should have been celebrating," running back Joseph Randle said. "You should celebrate when you get lucky. We feel like they got lucky and, you know, they won the game and we lost, so they deserved to celebrate that win."

Randle said the way the Sooners celebrated "means that they felt like they should have lost coming into the game. You know, regardless of rankings and all of that different stuff, they didn't think they was going to come in there and just blow us out. I guarantee you that. We felt like we was going to blow them out, honestly. I felt like, 'This was going to be easy.' But it is what it is. We lost. They won. Congratulations."

Instead of the usual Sunday routine, coach Mike Gundy allowed his players to watch comedy clips of their choice "and they laughed for a long time" before settling in to view game film and start prepping for Saturday's game at Baylor (6-5, 3-5 Big 12).

"The good thing about college football is you have to get right back at it, whether you feel like it or not," Gundy said. "Our team came over last night and spent some time together and spirits were good by the time they left the facility."

Oklahoma State (7-4, 5-3) will play its eighth game in as many weeks and Gundy said his players - and coaches - needed the mental break. He said losing to Oklahoma was harder on him and the coaching staff than it was on the players.

"It starts with us," Gundy said. "I'm not even scared to say that was the first thing that we discussed in our staff meeting yesterday, was that we have to get over it first, and then we have to make sure the players understand, which they do, that if they don't practice well tomorrow, it takes about 30 percent of our chance away from winning on Saturday."

That doesn't mean it's easy.

"I never get over it," Gundy said. "I'm going to wake up three years from now talking about, or thinking about, this game. Just like I do the Holiday Bowl, just like I did the Cotton Bowl, just like the Texas game from this year. That never really goes away."

For their part, players said they need to play well against Baylor, which has won three of its last four games to become bowl eligible. The past two weeks, the Bears knocked off then-No. 2 Kansas State 52-24, then beat Texas Tech 52-45 in overtime.

Nick Florence threw for 396 yards and three touchdowns without an interception against the Red Raiders. Terrance Williams had seven catches for 175 yards and a score, giving him the FBS lead with 1,693 receiving yards even though he's played one fewer game than USC star Marqise Lee.

Florence and Williams are among 23 seniors that will be honored before Baylor's home finale.

"This senior class has been a part of a lot of things at Baylor," Florence said. "It hasn't really hit me yet that it's coming to an end, but I'm sure it will so we have to channel that and funnel that and use it to our advantage."

Behind that dynamic duo, Baylor averages a Big 12-best 575.5 yards per game, with Oklahoma State second at 547.9. But while the Cowboys are fifth in total defense, Baylor is allowing a conference-worst 509.7 yards per game - 100.6 more than Oklahoma State.

Oklahoma State has won six straight and 15 of its last 16 games against Baylor, including a 59-24 romp last year, during which the Cowboys controlled the Bears' eventual Heisman Trophy winner, Robert Griffin III, and jumped to a 42-0 lead.

"The challenges with Baylor are going to be the same as it's been the last few weeks," Oklahoma State linebacker Shaun Lewis said. "We've been playing some of the top offenses in the country the past month, and the expectation is the same. We want to limit the run game and make them one-dimensional. We know coach is going to come up with a great game plan this week."
