| N ILLINOIS: The Huskies will be led by QB Drew Hare, who started the first nine games of last season before a ruptured ACL ended his year. CB Shawun Lurry, who led FBS in interceptions in 2015 with nine, returns to a secondary that lost CB Paris Logan and safety Marlon Moore.
| | BALL ST: Expect Ball State to institute a no-huddle spread attack now that Mike Neu has taken over as head coach, but the Cardinals are going to have to make the transition with four starting offensive linemen having departed. And although new defensive coordinator Tim Daoust has most of his players back, it's from a team that ranked 121st in FBS in total defense last season.
