WYOMING: It's baby steps for Wyoming, who should improve in year two under head coach Craig Bohl, but the Cowboys aren't in a position to make a serious run at either Boise State or Utah State in the Mountain division. While the offense appears poised to take a step forward'Wyoming brings back their top two rushers from last season, Brian Hill and Shaun Wick'the defense lacks the talent to keep up with the conference's top teams.
APPALACHIAN ST: A year ago it was a tale of two halves for the Mountaineers, who were on of the nation's worst teams before turning things around and looking outright dominant in the second half of the season. If their triple option rushing attack picks up where it left off, they'll be as good as anyone in the conference. It's just a matter of the defense bending but not breaking often. With a favorable schedule that includes home games against Georgia Southern, Arkansas State and UL-Lafayette, holding court at home could lift them to a Sun Belt title.
