Who's gone: G Jordan Roper, C Landry Nnoko, F Josh Smith
Who's back: F Jaron Blossomgame. Senior forward who was a first-team all-ACC selection last year, led the Tigers in scoring (18.7 points) and rebounds (6.7); F Donte Grantham. Junior averaged 10.2 points a game; PG Avry Holmes. The senior transfer averaged 10 points and led the team in assists and steals.
Who's new: G Shelton Mitchell. The sophomore sat out last season after transferring from Vanderbilt. G Marcquise Reed. Another sophomore who sat out last season after coming from Robert Morris where he averaged 15 points and was the Northeast Conference's freshman of the year in 2014-15. F Elijah Thomas. A 6-foot-9 transfer from Texas A&M who will be eligible in December.
The Skinny: Clemson has not made the NCAA Tournament since Brownell's first season in 2011, despite having 10 ACC victories in 2014 and last season. The Tigers were 7-5 against non-ACC opponents and will look for a faster start this season. |
