KEY GAME INFORMATION
MILWAUKEE: His new contract is a bit eye-opening, but between his shooting and his ability to cover ground on defense, Khris Middleton is exactly what the Bucks want on the wings . . . Michael Carter-Williams does a lot of things well, but it will be tough for head coach Jason Kidd to play him full-time starter's minutes while he's bricking so many jumpers . . . That's the reason why Milwaukee acquired Greivis Vasquez. He could end up in close to a 50/50 time split with Carter-Williams . . . O.J. Mayo will continue to serve as a high-scoring sixth man . . . Jerryd Bayless will lose minutes, but the Bucks can go three guards often with their scrambling defense . . . Rookie Rashad Vaughn is probably a year away from significant minutes . . . Tyler Ennis is buried as the third point guard. He has taken significant steps forward in each of his first two seasons, and Giannis Antetokounmpo still has plenty of room to grow. The Greek Freak is perfect for what the Bucks do defensively, with the ability to scramble and cover a ton of ground. Offensively, the next step is adding a three-point shot . . . Jabari Parker is the mystery man on this roster. He was not off to a great start early last season, then tore his ACL. He's skilled and a capable offensive player, but pairing him and Greg Monroe would give them two minus defenders in the frontcourt . . . Chris Copeland is one-dimensional, but his shooting comes in handy as a stretch 4 . . . Johnny O'Bryant will likely be on the outside looking in at the rotation of bigs. Greg Monroe is what he is: a skilled offensive player but a subpar athlete who is a liability on defense. The Bucks are banking that the active, scrambling defenders they'll surround him with can make up for that . . . When the Bucks go defense, rim protector and all around Inspector Gadget athlete John Henson can play the 4 or 5 . . . Miles Plumlee is a warm body with six fouls to give.
ORLANDO: Victor Oladipo's defensive tenacity will appeal to Skiles, and he has the budding offensive game to be the go-to scorer in Orlando . . . Elfrid Payton can get to the basket and has the kind of length and athleticism to be a plus defender. Now if only he could shoot . . . He is overshadowed by the other two guards, but Evan Fournier is a quality wing. He brings some shooting and defensive versatility off the bench . . . C.J. Watson arrives as a steady veteran presence behind Payton, but is likely not long for Orlando . . . The Magic took a flier on Shabazz Napier, who seemed uncomfortable in Miami and never showed the ability to get into the paint . . . Devyn Marble has 12th-man fever . . . Tyler Harvey, a prolific scorer at Eastern Washington, is likely D-League bound. He has quietly developed into a fairly creative scorer, and Tobias Harris has improved defensively to the point that he's no longer a liability . . . Channing Frye will fill the floor-spacing role again, a necessary piece with two below-average shooters starting in the backcourt. He's a part-time role player at this point in his career . . . Aaron Gordon has NBA All-Defensive team ability, which should get Skiles giddy. His offensive game is a work in progress, but he showed improvement as a shooter last season and again this past summer . . . He might need a year or two to settle in, but Mario Hezonja is going to be fun. The wing is an elite athlete, a very good three-point shooter, and plays with an overabundance of confidence . . . Andrew Nicholson will hang out on the bench again. Nikola Vucevic will continue to be a rebounding machine, and his offensive game has developed nicely over the past two seasons. However, he can not protect the rim . . . Veteran Jason Smith has a game similar to Vucevic, but can space the floor a bit more on offense . . . If they need a rim-protector, Dewayne Dedmon is kicking around as a third center.
PREVIEW
Bucks-Magic Preview
By KEVIN MASSOTH STATS Writer

While the Orlando Magic have enjoyed the early return from a lineup adjustment, the Milwaukee Bucks have slipped into a defensive lull that has them desperate for a change.

The Magic hope to notch a second straight win Friday night with one of their best players contributing off the bench while the visiting Bucks continue to search for answers.

Milwaukee has won four of six in this series, including a 115-100 victory on Jan. 29 that snapped a 17-game losing streak at Orlando.

The Magic (7-8) followed wins in four of five games with losses in three of four, leading to a mix-up of coach Scott Skiles' starting five against New York on Wednesday.

Skiles, searching for a boost defensively and some scoring off the bench, started Channing Frye in place of Victor Oladipo, who responded with a season-high 24 points. The third-year shooting guard made just 5 of 15 shots but hit 13 of 15 free throws to provide a spark in a 100-91 victory.

Oladipo averaged just 6.3 points on 32.3-percent shooting in his previous four games while missing two in the middle with a concussion. He started 71 of his 72 games a year ago and the first 12 of this season.

''I came in with a little chip on my shoulder,'' Oladipo said. ''A lot of it was just getting back to being who I am and realizing when I do that, we have a good chance of winning.''

The Magic, who have won five of six at home, shot 39.5 percent but were well balanced. Nikola Vucevic finished with 22 points and 12 rebounds, while Tobias Harris had 17 and 10 and Elfrid Payton added 12 points and 11 assists.

Orlando, which has shot better than 50 percent just once this season, might be in line for another step forward against a Milwaukee defense allowing 114.0 points per game in its last five contests.

The defensive slump included a 109-88 win over Detroit on Monday, but the Bucks followed with their sixth loss in eight games on Wednesday, an ugly 129-118 home loss against Sacramento.

Milwaukee (6-9), loser of four straight on the road, allowed the Kings to score 40 first-quarter points, but it was actions at the end of the game that suggested frustrations have finally boiled over.

Coach Jason Kidd was ejected with 1:49 left after swatting the ball out of referee Zach Zarba's hand following a non-foul call against his team. Kidd needed to be restrained by players and an assistant coach before retreating to the locker room.

The extracurricular activities didn't end there. Directly following the game, Kings and Bucks players were heard shouting at each other in a hallway leading to the locker rooms.

''I was having a Coke and eating some popcorn,'' Kidd said. ''I was sent in early. I don't know what happened.''

Milwaukee players wouldn't shed light on the altercation either, but Kidd did admit that his interaction with Zarba was linked to a lack of whistles for his team.

''But that wasn't the issue of the game," Kidd said. "They got our temperature and saw we didn't want to play defense.''

Sacramento finished at 57.1-percent shooting, the highest against Milwaukee this season. After allowing opponents to shoot better than 50 percent once in their first 10 games, the Bucks have held foes under that number just once in their last five.

Teams have scored more than 100 points in six of seven against Milwaukee and at least 115 in four of five.
