| LA LAFAYETTE: Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Year Elijah McGuire is going to be tested this season, as the Ragin' Cajuns lost the other two-thirds of their backfield. More troubling is the loss of the monster interior defensive line tandem of Christian Ringo and Justin Hamilton, potentially making a strength into a weakness. With so many new faces in key places, another 7-1 season in the Sun Belt is a tall order. | | APPALACHIAN ST: A year ago it was a tale of two halves for the Mountaineers, who were on of the nation's worst teams before turning things around and looking outright dominant in the second half of the season. If their triple option rushing attack picks up where it left off, they'll be as good as anyone in the conference. It's just a matter of the defense bending but not breaking often. With a favorable schedule that includes home games against Georgia Southern, Arkansas State and UL-Lafayette, holding court at home could lift them to a Sun Belt title. |
